Dr. Sara Lindeman is an entrepreneurial academic. She is passionate about innovation and systems change for global sustainable development. She has initiated the New Global innovation and research project at Aalto University and recently founded Leapfrog Project OY.

Martijn Blom

Martijn Blom is responsible for Investor relations at Hivos Impact Investments, a dedicated impact investment management office for Dutch Hivos Foundation. Martijn is an experienced business angel investor since 2007 with a special expertise in impact investment in international development.
– Hivos Mideast Creatives Fund that aims to support innovative companies in the creative industries in Middle East North Africa in order to support more open societies and freedom of expression.
– Hivos Food and Lifestyle Fund that supports sustainable food production, local food sales and support biodiversity and healthy diets in Southern Africa.

Eva Wissenz

Eva Wissenz co-founded Solar Fire Concentration Ltd / GoSol.solar in Tampere, Finland. Together with her team they promote Concentrated Solar Power to Farmers and Entrepreneurs in developing countries to build capacity, empower entrepreneurs and reinforce the local economy through access to clean energy. Their work is a mix of high tech and low tech and they address 7 SGDs.

Atte Harjanne

Atte Harjanne (The Greens) is a newly elected member of the Finnish parliament. Climate and science are on the top of his agenda. Previously he has done research on socio-economic impacts of climate change.

Larissa Leppänen

Larissa Leppänen is the Head of Legal and Sustainability at Compensate foundation whose mission is to find the most effective ways to capture carbon and to help make our everyday lives more responsible.

Inka Mero

Inka Mero is an entrepreneur, company builder, VC, angel investor and new business executive. She is passionate about building new global digital and technology businesses, and her new initiative is Voima Ventures. Voima Ventures helps founders to accelerate the growth of deep technology ventures to global markets.

Jarkko Levänen

Jarkko Levänen is assistant professor of sustainability science, LUT University. His research focuses on sustainability management in the areas of advancement of circular economy and mitigation of climate change. Jarkko explores energy transitions, sustainable business models and institutional changes. Previously Jarkko has worked in research projects dealing with risk governance of carbon capture and storage in Europe, sustainable industrial production in Scandinavia and the social implications of climate change in the Nordic peripheries.

Tatu Lyytinen

Tatu Lyytinen is an entrepreneur and PhD candidate at Aalto University School of Business. His research interest includes management and facilitation of international business, business models and business modelling, and business ecosystems. He is interested in connecting scientific and practical knowledge to balance between social and financial outcomes in emerging markets.

Helena Sandman

M.Sc. Helena Sandman’s research is on user-centered emphatic design where she uses architecture as an empowering tool striving for social sustainability. Her fields of study are affordable housing and maternity ward design. She is a founding member of Ukumbi, an NGO providing architecture as a means of development, and a partner in Hollmén Reuter Sandman Architects Ltd. Helena has been teaching multidisciplinary student teams in project-based slum upgrading and is lecturing regularly worldwide.

Marleen Wierenga

Marleen Wierenga is a doctoral student at the Aalto University, School of Business. In her dissertation she studies four low-income entrepreneurs and her geographical context is India. Her key research interests are the ways low-income entrepreneurs deal with resource-scarcity, the innovation processes of these entrepreneurs and the institutional arrangements in which they operate.

Sini Suomalainen

Sini Suomalainen is an impact business, networks and communications specialist. She was one of the founding partners at restaurant Loop and co-owns the impact consultancy company Rhea Solutions.

Sini Numminen

M.Sc. (Tech.) Sini Numminen is a doctoral student at the New Energy Technologies group at the Department of Applied Physics at Aalto University.  In her dissertation, she studied the relevance of frugal and affordable energy technologies in sustainable energy transitions in emerging economies. Her key interests include solar energy, user-centered technology design and behavioural change for smart energy use. She has also given lectures on energy poverty, energy frugality and energy saving in Finnish schools.

Emma Nkonoki

Emma Nkonoki is a researcher and a senior project specialist with over 10 years of experience in International Development research and projects (Nordic- East African relations). She holds a Master of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration and a Professional Master of Project Management. She has worked with Finnish and International NGOs and at the moment she is working with Aalto University and the University of Turku. Her areas of interest include Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Technology, Education and International Business.
